Internationally trained dentists seeking U.S. licensure must first complete an approved U.S.-based dental education pathway. Depending on individual goals, this may include an advanced-standing DDS/DMD program, a CODA-accredited specialty program, or another accepted educational route. Dr. Johnny Onori

  • More than 20 years of clínical endodontic experience, including microscope-assisted root canal therapy.
  • CBCT-supported diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of complex endodontic cases.
  • Restoration planning for endodontically treated teeth, including inlays, onlays, endocrowns, and fixed prosthetic workflows.
  • Lecturer and hands-on workshop instructor for endodontic courses and international dental meetings.
  • Current U.S. credential pathway experience through the DMD program at the University of Puerto Rico.
  • Successfully passed the Bench Test on the first attempt in 2025 and the CITA-ADEX examination on the first attempt in 2026, bringing current candidate-level insight to the course.

Dr. Myrna Mijares Rosell

  • Extensive clínical experience in comprehensive dentistry, including diagnosis, integrated treatment planning, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, and cosmetic procedures.
  • Owner and clínical director of a private dental practice for more than 20 years, providing multidisciplinary patient care and overseeing comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Strong prosthodontic background with experience in crowns, bridges, onlays, inlays, veneers, removable prostheses, and implant-supported restorations.
  • Hands-on teaching experience as an instructor of clínical practice for dental hygienists and dental assistants.
  • Additional training in aesthetic dentistry, implantology, restorative procedures, orthodontics, TMJ disorders, oral surgery, and dental sedation.
  • Current U.S. credential pathway experience through the DMD program at the University of Puerto Rico.

CITA ADEX preparation focused on clínical exam readiness, procedure expectations, evaluation standards, preparation planning, and realistic readiness guidance.

Day 1Endodontics & Periodontics

  • Anterior and molar endodontic access preparation techniques
  • Clinical guidance for access design, refinement, and common errors
  • 3-hour timed mock examination under ADEX-style conditions
  • ACC / SUB / DEF evaluation criteria and common point deductions
  • Updated ADEX Periodontal Examination requirements, including diagnosis, documentation, and exam expectations effective August 2026

Day 2Prosthodontics

  • Updated ADEX prosthodontics format focused on all-ceramic crown preparations
  • Hands-on preparation of molar #3, premolar #5, and anterior #9 crowns
  • Ideal preparation design using the same Taper Gauge used by examiners
  • Guidance on 12°-16° total occlusal convergence, reduction, and finish-line requirements
  • Review of common preparation errors and evaluation point deductions

Day 3Restorative Dentistry & Mock Exam

  • Class II composite preparation training aligned with current ADEX requirements
  • Class III composite preparation design, technique, and evaluation review
  • Review of endodontic access preparation, diagnosis, and X-ray interpretation
  • Comprehensive mock examination under exam-style conditions
  • Final discussion of grading criteria, time management, and strategies to maximize ADEX performance
